I, Aviah Bethany Coquard, am trained in traditional Byzantine iconography and enjoy writing icons as well as drawing, acrylic and water color painting, and graphic design. I thank God for the gifts which He gives me, and pray that the work which I put forth gives fruit to His Kingdom.  

Icons are traditional Christian art, appropriate for both Liturgy and personal devotion. An icon is known as a "window to Heaven" since the stylistic elements assist the viewer to contemplate the life of the Saint as he or she prays. Once an icon is blessed and inscribed with the name of the Saint, the icon is no longer just a piece of art, but a sacramental.
